Harlaxton State School

Education Through Imagination

Like this beautiful tree, Harlaxton State School students are always growing in many different ways. They challenged themselves to think outside the box with this project, using their imaginations in design, planning and construction.

The prep and Year 1 students are represented by the stories being told around the base of the tree. The fairy garden and teddy bear picnic show the excitement and exploration of these foundational years of education around them, whilst also looking above in wonder at the leafy canopy revealing the potential of where their imagination can take them.

Climbing further up the tree, the imagination of years 2, 3 and 4 comes to life, continuing the adventure of education with the building of treehouses and branch swings. This shows how the students learn to grow their imagination in fun and practical ways.

As each branch takes the students higher in years 5 and 6, we find the busy network of animal characters that help them on their journey higher. Our Harlaxton teachers, aides, office staff and cleaners are all depicted in the tree encouraging and supporting our students as they continue to learn, grow, dream and blossom into beautiful colourful flowers.

A rainbow of fruit to boost the energy of imagination is always available. The health of our relationships is also important, respecting one another and building resilience to realise all the possibilities of reaching the top. This encompasses our Harlaxton “whole child” focus.

Rockville State School

At Rockville State School, we pride ourselves on being Learners, Encouraging one another and being Responsible while we are attending school. This tree represents some of our other core values that we pride ourselves in to make our school and community better.

  • Daffodils to symbolise new beginnings.
  • Sunflowers to symbolise the loyalty we have not only to each Rockville student, but also to the families of our students.
  • Bluebells to symbolise humility and gratitude.
  • Yellow tulips are a sign of hope and happiness.
  • Chrysanthemums symbolise joy and optimism.
  • The chamomile flowers represent peace and calm.
  • Pink and blue delphiniums are a symbol of having a big heart.

We are a diverse school at Rockville and we are very proud to show evidence of all of these attributes within our school. Each class has created a beautiful flower to come together in creating a wonderful representation of what its like to be a part of Rockville State School.

Toowoomba North State School

‘Our Tree’

Trees are highly valued at Toowoomba North State School. Our school is over 150 years old and many of our trees are heritage listed which means that they are protected.

The trees at our school have watched the generations of children and families, who come to our school, grow and change. Our trees have also seen the many changes that have occurred in our city.

We have decorated our tree to show the promise that spring brings to our school and our city. The colourful buds on our tree represent the start of a new season and the opportunity for new life and energy in our school. The tree trunk is painted brown to represent the strength of our school community.

We value our trees, our strong school community and the city that we are apart of.
